At the Michael Davitt Museum, we are well known for our engaging and personalised guided tours.

Tours run on the hour, every hour, offering visitors a unique insight into Michael Davitt’s remarkable life and legacy.
The final tour begins at 4:00 p.m.

Visitors can explore the inspiring story of Michael Davitt through a range of engaging experiences. Begin your visit with a 12-minute documentary, then join our knowledgeable guides who bring Davitt’s life and legacy to vivid detail through the museum’s original artefacts and exhibits.

The outdoor tour starts in our peaceful Sensory Garden, a reflective space that leads to the cemetery where Michael Davitt rests. This area invites visitors to pause and honour a life dedicated to justice and reform.

Guests also discover the story of poet Tadgh Dall O’Huiginn, known as the “Matchstick Man,” and explore the nearby Straide Friary with its intricate carvings and centuries of history. Our guides share vivid tales of faith, struggle, and resilience, including the story of the O’Donnell family tomb and the Famine Relief bridge – poignant reminders of Ireland’s enduring heritage.

Visitor Reviews

Rather than just take our word for it (because we would say that wouldn’t we?), we’ve received lots of independent recognition, as well as great customer reviews which, say a lot more about us than we could ever tell you ourselves!
