Accessibility

The management of Michael Davitt Museum recognises the importance of ensuring that our website is accessible to everyone. We are committed to making our website accessible in accordance with European Union (Accessibility of Websites and Mobile Applications of Public Sector Bodies) Regulations 2020. We are continually working to improve our website user experience for everyone and make our content available to the widest possible audience, including those who use assistive technologies.

This accessibility statement applies to the michaeldavittmuseum.ie website.

Compliance status

michaeldavittmuseum.ie is partially compliant with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines 2.1 level AA

Non-accessible content

  • Some supporting materials for statistical publications are not fully accessible. These include infographics, sound bites and some videos. We are working to provide transcripts for these – please contact us if you would like one where it is not provided.
  • Some PDF (Portable Document Format) versions of older documents in our release archives. If you cannot access the information in any PDF document, please contact us for assistance.
  • Our policy at present is to leave in place all historical statistical releases published on our website as reference material. However, updating thousands of these historical statistical releases would be a disproportionate burden so they may not meet our current accessibility standards in part or in full. If you cannot find what you need or if you have difficulty accessing any information, please contact us and we will assist with your enquiry.
  • The website uses an embedded third-party spam-prevention tool (Google reCAPTCHA). Because this is an external service, the Michael Davitt Museum has limited control over its underlying code and behaviour. As a result, it may not fully meet accessibility best practices, particularly around ARIA implementation, keyboard navigation, and focus management.
